Google Search Page Today Features Children's Author Roald Dahl

Google logo repurposed to showcase items and characters

September 13 being Roald Dahl's birthday (he was born September 13, 1916), Google is celebrating today with a special celebration logo on the Google search page featuring items and characters from Dahl's world famous children's books.

Born 91 years ago, Dahl never experienced i-Technology as we know it today. he died in 1990, so he never Googled himself.

But with books to his credit like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, James and the Giant Peach, Matilda, The Witches and The BFG, his fame is every bit as great as that of fellow Brit Sir Tim Berners-Lee. (Despite his Norwegian sounding name Dahl was actually born in Wales.)

The graphic features things that come from, among other books, Matilda and James and the Giant Peach.
